Genesis 1:28-31
Man ruling as God’s representative, but with no blood shed, not even for food: That was the picture in the beginning. This is a kind of ruling we don’t usually think of, the kind the ensuing pages of Scripture will picture as shepherding. It will be embodied by the one who will rule over all, but who counted the position of ruler to be nothing (Philippians 2:5-7). There is subduing (verse 28) that is about subjugating, and there is subduing that is about instilling a spirit of peace, the biblical ‘shalom’, which is about well-being in every respect.
Prayer:
God, you make pretty clear how we are supposed to exercise whatever authority you entrust to us. If your own Son said he came not to be served but to serve, what does that say about me? In Him. Amen.

do you think there is such a thing as a just war?
did jesus eat meat? he fed people with fish.
is nonviolent civil disobedience the only truly christian response to aggression? or was martin luther king only a man for his season?
just war? seems a contradiction of terms, and not far from holy war, which is an outright absurdity. But then, perhaps myself being contradictory, I do believe God permits armed authority for the subduing of evil. But then, evil is hardly to be externalized as an something out there only ... I fear I will continue to go in circles if I go on. So I flail at your first and third questions. As for Jesus and meat. I can only answer as the politician does: Good question! Dunno. Soemthing to look into...
